Wilhelmus Adrianus van Berkel, a Rotterdam butcher in the late 1880s, revolutionized food preparation with his slicer and later expanded into manufacturing scales. This authentic Berkel scale dates from the early 1950s and was widely used by butchers, fishmongers, boulangers, and charcuterie specialists.
