These are from the Italian glass blowers Vetri Della Arte (commonly known as Vedar for short). Hand blown and hand painted, I believe they are made of a a type of ceramic glass. These Art Deco goblets were purchased by my grandmother in approx. 1925 and have been in my family since then. Originally there were 12, but one broke years ago, so I now have a set of 11. I will sell as many or as few as you want at $295 EACH. But if you buy all 11, I will discount the price to $270 EACH.
I am calling them "water goblets" here, but I've used them for champagne, wine. etc.- you can really use them for anything.
Each one is approx. 7 and a half inches tall and 4 inches in diameter at the rim of the glass, with a maximum of about 4 and a half inches in diameter at the widest point in the middle. This is significant in comparing past realized prices, as they also made these in a smaller size for less money.
As you can see from the attached photos, they are truly beautiful with the hand painted signature motifs of peacocks and female nudes that Vedar used on most of their work. The last photo shows they are signed; the close -up photo of the signature is a little blurry, but it says "Vedar" with "XlV' below Vedar.
I would prefer that you pick these up as they are delicate and expensive- I wouldn't really trust UPS or Fed.Ex. with them! But I will consider shipping them (insured ) if you pay the shipping and insurance costs.I will also consider delivering them to within an hour's drive from Westerly.
