Tortue’s cabin is finished to a yacht-level standard, by use of a molded fiberglass liner, high pressure laminates, and off-white painted paneling accented by satin-varnished trim, doors and cabinetry. Tortue is a comfortable, well-maintained coastal cruiser for day trips and overnights. She is intentionally simple and functional; her interior has been upgraded with light painted paneling accented with satin varnished teak trim and doors. Current owner has made many upgrades to the boat.
The large cockpit and flush deck (unique for a 27-footer) provide a wonderful space for entertaining, relaxing or fishing.
The bottom paint is Petit Hydrocoat, the bootstripe is Awlgrip Matterhorn White and the topsides are brushed-on Brightside Jade green. The hull is solid fiberglass, and the deck is balsa cored. There are no soft spots.
Engine is a gas 5.7 liter, 300 hp V-8 with 365 hours, new in 2019. Two aluminium fuel tanks, 90 gals total new in 2019. Cruise speed is 12-15 knts.
The deck and cockpit sole are original beige gel coat and show some signs of age.
The boat is perfect for harbor cruises of Newport, runs up the Bay, and weekends to Block Island, Cuttyhunk and Westport.
Tortue is on a mooring at SHM Jamestown Boatyard. It is available for showings by appointment.
