There is no better rower than the Cosine Wherry, with a hull speed of 5 knots. I found this one on Craigslist several years ago in a barn in NJ, where it was built in the 1980s by the farmer for use on his private pond. It was stored inside when not in use. I’ve since updated it with bronze oarlocks and Shaw & Tenney oars with factory-installed leathers. The boat has three rowing positions. There is just one defect on the boat, as shown in the pictures: as I was hauling after my last voyage, the rub rail on the skeg lifted and broke off in the water. Ideally the rub rail would be reinstalled with new heavier ¾” stock rather than the ½” stock on the boat. Not pictured is a tired universal cover that can be re-purchased new on Amazon for $85, a hand-operated bilge pump, a set of yoga balls that I used — to excellent effect — as a support for the cover, and a storage cradle shown in the photos. The hull weighs @ 80 lbs, and is commonly transported on a roof rack. Stole it for $3,000, added $1,000 to it, and would like to get $3,000 for it.
