This one-of-a-kind piece was handmade by Shaw & Tenney in Maine according to my specs. The idea behind it was a tool that could be used both to gaff a mooring line, and also to control a small boat from the bow as it approaches a mooring. It worked great, and attracted a lot of attention, but the boat is now gone, and my interest in boating has faded, and this gorgeous conversation-starter has been kicking around my shed for about 6 years and needs someone who will to enjoy it in its life. I carried it to and from the boat with each voyage, and stored in the shed the rest of the time, so it’s original finish is in sparkling-new condition, with no chips/scrapes/abrasions. The hook itself is solid bronze, and as I recall the paddle is solid ash. Dimensions can be seen in the photos. I paid $500; will sell it for $300. Pick-up only.
