Picked this engine up many years ago, and never got around to reviving it. Looked like it spent most of its time in fresh water, but had seen some salt water use. I removed the powerhead, cylinder head, exhaust cover and thermostat. Inspected pistons and cylinders, they were in good shape. Cleaned all passages and carbon, replaced all gaskets, used sealer on all bolt threads to enusre it will come apart easily for future servicing. Inspected and replaced lower crankcase seal components. Pulled flywheel and mag plate, lubed mag plate bushings, checked all ignition components. Disassembled carb, cleaned and inspected, replaced fuel lines. Replaced starter rope. Someone had messed up the water pump screw threads, drilled out broken screws, installed helicoils and new impeller. Drain, inspected and changed gear lube. Dismantled, cleaned and lubed tiller handle/throttle shafts.
Again, most all threads were cleaned, most all hardware treated with gasket sealer so it will come apart easily even in salt water use. This is a 20"/long shaft model, would be great for a sailboat auxiliary, or on small boat with a tall transom. Call/text or message with any questions you may have. Will be glad to get a video of the engine running...
