This engine came to me already in pretty nice condition, but I took the time to go through it thoroughly because there was a concern about the water pump/cooling.
Removed powerhead, inner exhaust covers, cylinder head and water cover. Inspected pistons and cylinders, all in very good condition. Cleaned threads, gasket surfaces, replaced upper water tube grommet. Checked upper mounts, OK. Checked thermostat, replaced all gaskets and treated hardware with gasket sealer. Cleaned and inspected ignition, checked all components. Disassembled, inspected, and cleaned carburetor. Repaired recoil, replaced rope. Inspected and pressure tested gearcase, replaced water pump impeller and SS cup, changed gear lube. OEM replacement parts were used, no aftermarket/amazon "stuff".
This engine is set up for salt water use, most all fasteners treated with gasket sealer, so future servicing will be very easy. Everything works as it should. This engine will provide many years of enjoyment with minimal maintenance. Please call or message with any questions you may have.
