2003 Porsche Boxster Base
986 Boxster with 81,300 miles. Finished in Arctic Silver paint with Seal Grey leather interior beautiful combination. This car has been stored indoors since I purchased it in June of 2021, with 76,836 miles on it but based on the paint, leather and interior trim parts it likely always was. The convertible top does not leak and operates as intended. New England Auto Sales, Plainfield, CT replaced the IMS bearing issue, and the water pump (preemptive maintenance while access was easy),. documentation available. Many other maintenance items been performed, including recent or new brake pads and rotors, driver side radiator fan and ballast, heater core, oil change, coolant flush and service, new battery, and more. Documentation for these items is limited to the receipts for the parts, and anecdotally from me. The engine is the 2.7L flat six with variable valve timing producing 228 HP. It is equipped with a five speed Tip Tronic automatic transmission with steering wheel shift buttons for “manual” driving mode. The sound system is an aftermarket Pioneer with CD player and inputs for a USB thumb drive and a 3.5mm plug for, I assume, an MP3 player. The tires are; Rear Nankang Sportex NS-25 255/40R17’s, with in excess of 5/16” tread life. Front Grand Prix Tour RS 205/50R17’s also with 5/16”+ of tread. There are no signs of sidewall cracking, sun damage or other visible defects. I am not asking for peak performance but to me the handling is very good and road noise is acceptable. Many other parts/repairs have also been replaced or performed. A list of these is available if you contact me, won’t fit here. Feel free to ask for more detailed information.. The vehicle is located in N. Kingstown, RI, 02852
Specifics include; new floor panels and plate covers done by Porsche of Warwick 7/12/21
Brake rotors, pads and wear sensors all 4 wheels. 3/31/22
Front hood lock actuator4/4/22
Duralast Gold battery 3/29/25
New L/H (driver’s side) electric radiator cooling fan, with new ballast . New heater core. 5/25
In 6/25 at 80,681 miles I oil and filter change with Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w-40 oil, drained and flushed the coolant system and serviced it with Valvoline Zerex G40 (the purple, recommended coolant) administered via AirLift system .Also around this time I replaced the driver seat stretch panel. No small job
Other parts were installed along the way like side lights, interior door safety light, trunk lid pneumatic struts, several new trim parts, some underneath, some in the frunk and new climate control led display etc. I have receipts for most of these things.
To the best of my knowledge everything on the car works as intended. The a/c blows cold, the heat blows hot, the seat heaters work well. The transmission is crisp and the engine runs great (and sounds better).
