Dear Videographers. I responded to a listing seeking wedding videographers last season on this site. I shot several weddings for them, was paid for only one of them, then stiffed for about $1,500 for the remaining weddings. I signed contracts with the company, Gilded Media owned by Ben Cooper who's website said they were based in Providence, RI. He says he needs to pay you via check (for accounting reasons), then gets you to upload the footage while you wait, and wait, for it to arrive, and then never pays you for as much work as he can get away with. He is constantly advertising for wedding videographers because he is burning and churning through them, scamming them out of their hard-earned pay, then moving on to the next hapless victim. Small claims is not an option because he does not have a business address anywhere in the state that I could find. (by design I'm sure). The ad is copied below. Do not work for this first class ass-clown unless you like getting screwed. Again the company is Gilded Media, Owner, Ben Cooper.
