We're looking for an experienced, passionate bar professional to serve as the heart of our tasting room operation. This is a hands-on leadership role: you'll manage the floor, set the standard, and be a strong voice in the business. If you're someone who's built your craft in high-volume or high-expectation environments and is ready to take real ownership of something small-scale and more personal, this might be exactly what you've been looking for.
What You'll Do:
Operations & Leadership
- Serve as the senior operator of the tasting room during all shifts, with full responsibility for the guest experience
- Lead, train, and supervise tasting room staff; model and enforce service standards
- Elevate the skills and knowledge of your fellow bartenders
- Develop and maintain SOPs for bar operations including cleanliness, ingredient storage, prep, and food safety compliance
- Manage opening and closing procedures and hold staff accountable to them
- Work directly with distillery ownership to grow the business
Behind the Bar
- Bartend 3-4 shifts weekly; this is an active bar role, not a desk job
- Design and evolve our cocktail menu, leveraging our house spirits exclusively
- Create cocktails that are inventive and approachable
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of cocktail culture, history, and technique across a range of styles
Menu & Cost Management
- Build menus with ingredient efficiency in mind
- Source and manage bar inventory with attention to cost of goods
- Balance creativity with practicality in menu development
- Review and report bar performance throughout the year
Guest Experience & Programming
- Deliver genuine, knowledgeable hospitality to every guest
- Serve as a brand ambassador for the distillery and its products
- Teach cocktail classes and run events alongside the management team
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of bartending experience in quality-driven environments: fine dining, craft cocktail bars, hotel programs, or similar
- 2+ years of leadership experience: shift leading, training, or bar management
- A genuine enthusiasm for spirits and the craft of distilling
- Comfort working with a focused, house-only spirits program, and excitement about the creative constraints that come with it
- Strong operational instincts: you think about yield, waste, and the business side of a bar program
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends consistently
Schedule & Compensation
Compensation for this role includes competitive hourly pay, tips, and performance incentives tied to Tasting Room and bottle sales.
Our tasting room is open Thursday through Sunday. We're looking for someone available for a minimum of three of these four shifts, with the opportunity for all four for the right candidate who wants to maximize their hours. In a typical week, we expect approximately 28-32 hours.
If you are someone who sees the potential in this opportunity, please apply today.
Principals only. Recruiters, please don't contact this job poster.
