Sous Chef – Nancy’s Restaurant | Martha’s Vineyard
Nancy’s Restaurant, a high-volume waterfront restaurant in Oak Bluffs, is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our leadership team.
This is an opportunity to work in one of Martha’s Vineyard’s busiest kitchens, serving thousands of guests each week during the peak season. We are looking for a strong leader who can thrive under pressure, maintain high standards, and help drive consistency across all areas of the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
Assist with daily kitchen operations
Lead and supervise line cooks and prep staff
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards
Manage prep production and station organization
Maintain sanitation and food safety standards
Assist with ordering, inventory, and product management
Train and develop kitchen team members
Work closely with ownership and kitchen leadership to improve systems and execution
Qualifications:
Previous Sous Chef or strong Kitchen Manager experience
Ability to lead a high-volume team during busy service periods
Strong organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays during the season
