Well-established, independently owned neighborhood bistro is seeking a hands-on Executive Chef / Kitchen Leader to lead daily kitchen operations.
We are a high-volume, long-standing concept with a loyal following, looking to bring in a strong, solutions-driven leader to elevate consistency, communication, and overall performance.
About the Concept:
Approachable, chef-driven cuisine rooted in seasonal New England ingredients with subtle Southern influence. Strong seafood presence, elevated comfort food, and a busy, bar-driven environment.
The Role:
This is a working leadership position for a chef who is present, organized, and leads by example. The right candidate will bring structure, accountability, and clear communication while maintaining a positive, professional kitchen culture.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop the kitchen team with clear expectations and accountability
• Maintain consistency in food quality, execution, and presentation
• Oversee ordering, inventory, and food cost controls
• Manage labor, scheduling, and daily operations efficiently
• Foster strong communication between kitchen, front of house, and ownership
• Contribute to menu development and seasonal features
What We’re Looking For:
• Proven experience in a leadership role (Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or strong Sous Chef ready to step up)
• A solutions-oriented mindset with strong follow-through
• Ability to run a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen
• Solid understanding of food and labor cost management
• Professional, reliable, and team-focused
