Vintage wicker Kindling holder? Magazine stand? A4 - $50 (Northern RI)

Not really sure what this is but it's got a great vintage look. It seems too round for magazines and too weak for firewood. It could perhaps handle lightweight kindling pieces. Princess Poofa Paws has her own ideas but I think she's wrong too (I will vehemently deny that if you tell her). It's a good-looking thing whatever it is and it's in very good condition. A few of the wicker strands have some small splits but overall excellent condition.

Piece is available in Northern RI. I am located about 20 minutes from Providence and a little over an hour from Hartford or Boston.
