COOLEST THINGS ABOUT CHILDHOOD? STILL HERE: CHARLESTOWN RI's
GENERAL STANTON INN FLEA MARKET
Just like savoring that bite into your favorite (fill in your flavor!) popsicle, The General Stanton Inn Flea Market in Charlestown, R.I., has kept many of the beloved memories from childhood "on ice" with its' appealing variety of vintage items, antiques, collectibles...and the occasional oddity you are not likely to encounter anywhere else.
Tin toys? Got 'em. Pond boats and binnacles? Aye, aye! Vintage French purses? Oui, oui!
The General Stanton "Flea" provides a constantly changing parade of treasureables, from hand-made jewelry, miniature works of art hand-painted on shells--and sold by the artist herself--to an outdoor vintage clothes and accessories boutique, where you just might feel like dancing the Charleston in Charlestown. And don't forget to visit the all-new, indoor General Stanton Antique Shop. The General Stanton Inn Flea Market keeps bringing cool things from the past, back into fashion...
The General Stanton Inn Flea Market has always been history-making. Now celebrating its' 54th Season, it's Rhode Island's oldest, continually-running Flea Market. It's located on the 7-acres of the historic General Joseph Stanton Inn, est. in 1767--nine years before our nation was established,..(How cool is that?!) This Flea Market shares the same zip code with 3 of Charlestown's beaches--again how cool is that?--figuratively (and literally--if you've ever enjoyed the sea breeze effect at this "Flea"?!)
