To open September 1, 2019 under the leadership of the South Kingstown Parks and Recreation Department. Those interested in woodworking, taking fun but challenging classes, teaching those classes, 3D printing, laser cutting, CNC work, fanvy wooden pen making, plasma cutting, water jet cutting, building jigs or equipment for yourself, sewing and embroidering, making river furniture, casting epoxy, milling, welding, and participating from the start, please contact. Also, partnering with local maker spaces. Looking for members, shop stewards (maybe retired toolmakers, shop teachers, and those who want to make new fast friends or slower ones). The program has connections to Newport, Pawtucket, and other FAB/maker programs nearby for help, overflow, sharing, and good chair (haha, cheer) on a good hair day. Community meeting to be scheduled in May, with opening day party likely the end of August (hopefully on a rainy day with wine, beer, cheese, vegetable snacks, and en toto enchiladas).
