Special Needs Support & Tutoring in Exchange for Housing
Professional Couple Seeking Housing Beginning June 2027
Hi everyone,
My spouse and I are looking for an apartment, in-law suite, or other housing arrangement beginning in June 2027. We are reaching out early because our goal is to build a relationship with a family over time and become trusted, reliable adults who can provide meaningful support.
Even if this arrangement is not something your family needs, we would greatly appreciate you sharing this post with anyone who may benefit from it. We know how valuable word-of-mouth recommendations are within the special needs community.
About Us
My spouse (24F) is a Behavior Technician who works with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disabilities. She is currently pursuing certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and is on track to complete her Master's degree in Behavior Analysis and BCBA certification by June 2027. She has experience implementing behavior plans, teaching life skills, and supporting individuals with a wide range of needs.
I am a (29M) high school math teacher with experience working with students of diverse learning styles, abilities, and academic needs. I provide tutoring, mentoring, and academic support to help students build confidence and achieve their goals. I am also pursuing a Master's degree in Education and expect to complete it by June 2027. While math is my specialty, I am comfortable providing support in a variety of academic subjects.
Helping children and families succeed is something we are both passionate about, both professionally and personally.
We are quiet, respectful, non-smokers, and proud owners of two friendly indoor cats. Our cats are affectionate, well-behaved, and comfortable around people.
Location
We are primarily looking for housing within approximately 50 minutes of Providence, Rhode Island, as this would allow us to comfortably commute to work and school commitments. However, we are flexible and would certainly consider opportunities located farther away for the right family and living arrangement.
We are open to locations throughout Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and nearby areas.
Services We Can Offer
Our primary focus is supporting children, teens, and young adults with special needs and developmental disabilities, including:
• One-on-one behavioral support
• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) support
• Social skills development
• Assistance with daily routines and life skills
• Family support and guidance
• Respite care assistance
• Homework help and academic support
• Tutoring and educational coaching
• After-school supervision and mentoring
• Assistance implementing behavior plans and positive reinforcement strategies
Additional Support We Can Provide
In addition to educational and behavioral support, we are happy to assist with:
• Light housekeeping and organizing
• Laundry and household tasks
• Yard work and basic outdoor maintenance
• Pet care
• Grocery shopping and errands
• General assistance around the home
Our Goal
We understand how difficult it can be to find dependable, compassionate, and experienced support for a loved one. Our hope is to create a mutually beneficial arrangement where we can provide valuable assistance to your family in exchange for reduced-cost or free housing.
We are open to discussing a variety of living situations and support arrangements based on your family's unique needs. Whether you are looking for occasional help, ongoing support, tutoring, mentoring, respite care, or assistance with behavioral goals, we would be happy to explore how we may be able to help.
If you have housing available and think we may be a good fit, please feel free to send me a direct message on Facebook. We would love the opportunity to connect, get to know your family, and discuss whether this arrangement could work for everyone involved.
If you know a family who may benefit from this type of arrangement, please consider sharing this post with them.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
If this post is still active, we are still looking.
