Duties include estimating materials, setting up scaffolding, protecting furnishings, removing fixtures, applying finishes, and ensuring clean-up, essential for both interior and exterior projects in residential, commercial, or industrial settings.
Key Responsibilities:
-Surface Preparation: Clean, sand, scrape, and repair surfaces (fill holes, cracks with putty/plaster).
-Application: Apply paint, stain, varnish, or sealers using brushes, rollers, spray guns, often applying multiple coats and taping off areas.
-Protection: Cover furniture, floors, fixtures, and landscaping with drop cloths or plastic.
-Material Management: Estimate material needs, mix and match colors, and purchase supplies.
-Site Setup/Cleanup: Erect scaffolding, set up safety equipment, remove/reinstall fixtures (doorknobs, switch plates), and clean tools/work area.
-Client Interaction: Communicate with clients about color/finish choices and project details.

-Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, climb ladders, lift, and work in various conditions.
-Attention to Detail: Precision in application, masking, and cleanup.
-Work Ethic: Efficiency, self-supervision, and time management.
-Safety Consciousness: Adherence to safety rules, use of PPE, and proper ventilation.
-Communication: Clear communication with clients and coworkers (carpenters, electricians).
