Providence manufacturing company seeks driver for a 20’ straight box truck and shipping/receiving/handling and general labor responsibilities. Forklift operation also required. The position of driver/general laborer balances operating commercial and non-commercial vehicles with performing physically demanding, hands-on tasks in the plant and on jobsites. Requirements include a valid driver’s license (CDL), an immaculate driving record and stamina to lift heavy packages, working outdoors and assisting on job sites. 1) Operate company vehicles safely including a 20’ straight box truck.
2) Inspect vehicles for fluids, tires, brakes, lights, inspection sticker date.
3) Secure cargo, equipment or materials using straps, chocks, or chains to prevent load shipment.
4) Navigate routes efficiently and comply with all DOT (federal) and state regulations.
5) Load and unload materials at factory or job site.
6) Assist skilled tradespeople with basic construction or fabrication tasks.
7) Load dumpster at factory. Keep factory floors clean.
8) Seasonal duties include snow plowing, weeding, and parking lot maintenance.
