Fulford Manufacturing Company is seeking a detail-oriented Shipping Associate to support daily logistics operations. This role prepares finished goods for shipment, ensures accurate documentation and traceability, and coordinates shipments to meet customer and quality standards. Job Overview
Shipping & Order Fulfillment
• Prepare finished goods for shipment in accordance with packing instructions, customer requirements, and quality standards
• Verify part numbers, quantities, lot numbers, and customer information prior to shipment
• Box, palletize, wrap, and label material to prevent damage during transport
• Ensure all shipments are properly identified and traceable
• Prepare Orders for outside processes such as Heat treating and plating processes
Documentation & Records
• Accurately complete shipping paperwork including packing slips, bills of lading, and ASN or shipment logs
• Record shipment details such as part number, quantity, ship date, customer, carrier, and tracking number
• Maintain organized and accurate shipping records to support traceability and audits
• Verify paperwork matches physical shipments prior to release
Carrier Coordination
• Schedule pickups with approved carriers (FedEx, UPS, LTL, etc.)
• Prepare shipments in accordance with carrier requirements and timelines
• Communicate shipment status, delays, or issues to supervision as needed
Material Handling & Inventory Support
• Safely move finished goods using carts, pallet jacks, or forklifts
• Stage shipments in designated areas for pickup
• Assist with inventory checks, cycle counts, and material organization as needed
• Maintain FIFO and lot control where required
Quality & Compliance
• Ensure only approved and released material is shipped
• Escalate discrepancies, damaged material, or documentation issues to Quality or supervision
• Follow all quality procedures, work instructions, and customer-specific requirements
• Support containment or re-inspection activities when required
Tools & Systems
• ERP and shipping software systems
• Carrier portals (FedEx, UPS, LTL platforms)
• Scales, label printers, and packaging equipment
• Pallet jacks and forklifts (certified)
• Electronic and paper-based documentation systems
Skill Development
• Trained in print handling and raw material classification.
• Operated basic equipment including piece scales, forklifts, and ERP software systems. Developed and implemented a raw material inventory tracking system.
• Created a barcode labeling system for long-term storage inventory.
• Followed standard operating procedures while proactively identifying and implementing improvements within the shipping department.
