Free Vintage A.B. Chase Upright Piano — Quality American-Made Instrument
A.B. Chase upright piano available to anyone who can arrange pickup and moving.
A.B. Chase was a respected American piano manufacturer based in Norwalk, Ohio, active from the late 1800s into the early 20th century. The company was known for producing well-built, higher-quality upright and grand pianos, and A.B. Chase instruments were generally considered a step above basic household parlor pianos of their era. This upright is from that tradition: a substantial, solidly built vintage instrument with an attractive wood cabinet, warm tone, and plenty more character than lots of newer entry-level uprights.
The piano still plays and has a nice sound and feel, but it is an older instrument and should be understood as a vintage piano rather than a fully restored modern one. It does not currently tune up to standard A440 pitch, so it may not be suitable for formal performance or studio recording without additional work. It could be a good fit for someone who appreciates older American pianos, wants a characterful home instrument, is interested in restoration, or wants a decorative vintage piano with musical potential. Sustain pedal works.
We are only parting with it because we are receiving another piano and do not have room for two. The piano is free, but the recipient must handle all moving arrangements and costs. It is heavy and will require proper piano movers.
