My name is Karson K, and I am a professional guitar player and vocalist based in Providence, RI. I love to play, and I’ve had a great time performing throughout the local area over the past few years. I aim to be easy to work with — patient, able to take criticism without ego, and fully committed to doing my job well. I am also alcohol and drug-free. While I’ve loved playing locally, I’m now looking to step into the touring realm.
I am currently the guitarist and one of the vocalists for Boston-based wedding band Groove Alliance, as well as for Scott Brown & The Diplomats, a rock cover band led by the former senator and ambassador. I also play and sing backup for Heartless - A Tribute to Ann Wilson, and Majesty of Mayhem, a rock opera blending originals and rock/metal hits.
I use modern, streamlined equipment: a digital guitar modeler and in-ear monitors. This setup provides consistency, eliminates stage volume, and allows for full control over feedback, sound quality, and balance. I also run fully wireless to keep up with the demands of live performance. Crafting sounds to accurately match parts and tones from the record is something I am well-versed in and passionate about, but I can also be creative when appropriate. Maintaining an energetic, engaging show is very important to me.
Although I’m known primarily as a guitar player, singing has become a major focus for me. I’ve poured a lot of time into developing my natural tenor range, control, and consistency. I’ve enjoyed singing songs by David Coverdale, Lou Gramm, Don Henley, Robert Plant, and others. I currently have fewer vocal materials ready to share, but if there’s a song you’d like to hear, I’d be happy to put together an at-home recording.
I’m very interested in joining a touring act either as a guitarist, vocalist, or both. The most important priority for me is to be in a very busy band with a high musical standard, but I would be most passionate about something in the rock or hard-rock realm. Traveling for multiple weeks, months, or even longer is something I’ve always wanted to do.
