Our year-round CPA firm in Narragansett, RI is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented office professional to support our administrative and tax preparation operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with income taxes, have strong computer skills (PC), and excellent client communication abilities. This role involves administrative duties, document management, client follow-up, and support of our ongoing CPA services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Call clients directly to request missing information; follow up to ensure deadlines met.
• Setup/assist clients with secure document portal
• Scan, catalog, and upload client documents into secure portals.
• Daily travel to Local post office.
• Maintain organized records and file management.
• Perform other administrative tasks as needed.
• Schedule:
o Standard hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Wed, Thu, Fri. (this is flexible)
o Peak tax season (Feb 15 – April 15): Saturday work required, typically ½ day
Required Skills and Experience:
• Previous experience in tax service office preferred.
• PC computer proficiency, including experience with:
o Microsoft 365 (Word & mail merge, Excel, Outlook)
o ProSeries Tax Software (preferred, not required)
o Constant Contact (preferred, not required)
o Peer-to-Peer Network / 2 PC stations with file sharing (preferred, not required)
• Excellent phone and communication skills; often calling clients directly.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Flexible and reliable, especially during peak tax season.
• Ability to bend, walk, and periodically lift 25-30 lb boxes
