As a Da Scientist specializing in optimizion and advanced machine learning, you will transle business needs into analytical & AI solutions th drive FM’s mission of loss prevention and risk reduction. You will design, develop, and deploy optimizion models, AI/ML algorithms, and decision‑support systems for real‑world, large‑scale problems across underwriting, engineering, operions, and innovion teams.
You will work in a collaborive, forward‑thinking analytics environment, leveraging modern tools and technologies to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Build machine learning and AI solutions using Python/R and modern ML frameworks for prediction, clustering, simulion, and automed decision systems.
• Develop and deploy optimizion models (e.g., linear, nonlinear, mixed‑integer programming, stochastic optimizion) for risk assessment and operional decision‑making.
• Lead end‑to‑end model development: problem framing, da processing, feure engineering, modeling, validion, implemention, and monitoring.
• Work with cross‑functional partners to transle analytical insights into business actions.
• Work with large‑scale dasets using SQL or similar tools and implement robust da pipelines.
• Apply creivity and domain expertise to evalue and improve model performance and interpretability.
• Contribute to continuous innovion in optimizion, ML, and AI practices across the organizion.

Educion (minimum requirement)

• Master’s degree in Operions Research, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mhemics, Computer Science, Da Science, or a closely reled field with strong optimizion focus. PhD preferred.

Experience

• 5+ years of industry experience in building optimizion or machine learning solutions.
• 5+ years hands‑on experience with da processing, modeling, and advanced analytics using Python or R.
• 3+ years experience working with large dasets using SQL or similar technologies.
• Proven experience leading full‑cycle da science or optimizion projects from ideion to deployment.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud‑based analytics and machine learning plforms, preferably Azure Dabricks

Technical Skills

Strong Knowledge & Practical Experience in:

• Optimizion methods:
  • Linear / Non‑linear programming
  • Mixed‑integer optimizion
  • Metaheuristics (GA, simuled annealing, evolutionary algorithms)
  • Stochastic and robust optimizion
• Core Machine Learning algorithms:
  • Tree‑based models, gradient boosting
  • Clustering & unsupervised learning
  • Neural networks and deep learning fundamentals
• Simulion
• Model evaluion, validion, and experimention
• Da wrangling, feure engineering, and pipeline design
• ML engineering practices following MLOps principles (model tracking, reproducibility, deployment)

Preferred Qualificions

• Experience in risk management, insurance, or operions modeling.
