Vintage circa 1920 Billings & Spencer Socket Ratchet Wrench wooden box

13 x 6 x 3.5 inches

What a rare find. I just love the antique look of this 100 year old box. This is an original wooden box by the Billings and Spencer Company of Hartford Connecticut, for "set no. 53". Much of the lettering is still intact inside, indicating the box was for a ratchet, socket, and wrench set. The box is solid but obviously shows alot of relic wear, and some "shoring up" with new hinges and maybe a few nails in the bottom. The box is strong and totally useable as is (I like the history shown in the 'repairs', and in the eraant hand writing in the lid....note it is the early cursive style of the early 1900's!).

Hook clasp is thought to be original.

A nice piece to store anything in your vintage all-USA shop.
