Horseneck beach is about 20 min away (if you have a MA state park pass, parking is free).
Newport is about 30 min (depending on traffic).
FYI: I've had people ask me about swimming in the pond/lake. The water is very clean. It is a reservoir and monitored by the water dept. Probably the cleanest fresh water swimming around.
There's a cove if you want to moor a small boat. Great pond/lake for exploration in a canoe/kayak/personal floats.
