THE WEEK'S STAY IS FROM SATURDAY, JULY 25 TO SATURDAY, AUGUST 1 OF 2026.
I consider this to be the most centrally located resort location on Newport Harbor!!!
I own week 30 in suite 308 every year at the Wyndham Inn on the Harbor. It's a GREAT LOCATION!
Suite 308 is classified as an STP, which means a standard room plus a parlor. It's actually just bigger than most of the other 1-bedroom suites they have at that resort. It has a partial kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, stove top burners but no oven, a toaster, coffee maker, etc. It also has a queen size bed in the bedroom and a queen-size sofa bed in the living room. They only have 44 units at the resort and it's one of two 1-bedroom suites that are extra large. It has a small, partial view of the harbor. However, the resort itself is on the harbor, so there are plenty of opportunities to see it. Staying in Newport, RI in the summer tends to be VERY expensive. It's the most popular time of the year there. It's a great location and so close to everything. There's an elevator for convenience.
This resort's Social Lounge offers a large-screen TV, full kitchen, gas fireplace, games and books. There is a laundry room nearby on the floor that has been free for guests' use.
This resort also has an On-Site Restaurant on the Newport harborfront, a Rooftop Sundeck, and Free High-Speed Wi/Fi Internet Access. It's front desk is open 24/7.
There are shops and restaurants along one side of the resort and the historic waterfront is on the other side. The resort provides convenient parking for one car, which can get expensive in Newport (and can be hard to obtain). It's in a wonderful location. There's a paid parking garage in Newport, if you bring more than one car. There's a harbor front restaurant right downstairs. Guests of the resort get a discount there if requested from the reception desk. It has live music on the weekends. There's a beautiful view of the harbor from the resort's sunroof. There's also a boat pier off of the back of the resort. Boating, restaurants, shops, scooter rentals, etc. surround the resort. I like to walk over to Bowen's Wharf and Bannister Wharf from there, too. At the end of the Bowen's wharf pier, they steam fresh lobsters and crabs for take-out. You can eat them or bring them back to your accommodations to enjoy with melted butter and lemons. Newport is known for mansions, historic sites, and yachting. The front desk of the resort has coupons for discounts for some mansion tours. I consider the limited number of other resorts in Newport, RI to be outrageously expensive. The price listed includes tax, which is significant in Newport!!!
The resort is on Thames Street near where it bends and becomes America's Cup Street. So, it's conveniently along the historic waterfront, centered nicely on it and is a short walk to the Water Ferry.
IT IS A GREAT VACATION SPOT!!!

Please note: The resort provides one free parking spot per guest condo. For another car, you would need to park it in a parking garage or on a side street.
