We took this down to change to a new style. It worked well and has a remote. It is the kind which requires a transformer, which is included. It's nice and quiet, it's heavy so it needs a solid mounting box, but it includes everything else you'd need. It does not have a bright light, it won't light up a room on its own. The blades can be flipped so they offer two colors.
